Nicaragua

Had an awesome trip to Nicaragua from last Thursday to Sunday.  Helmer and Susy Juarez and I flew from here, and Dr. Bill Driscoll from ENC met us there.  We met the first evening with the MicroEnterprise Committee, and it was a wonderful meeting!  I don't think they were really convinced that we were committed to this project for the long haul, and now they are.  A very strong connection.  Lots of good discussion about how to help those who are having trouble paying back their loans because of the downturn in the economy (yes, our issues have affected people around the world!), as well as how to provide training for the loan recipients.
Friday and Sat we met with everyone who has received a loan so far, and though some are really struggling, it was a great opportunity to provide encouragement.  One older lady we had to initially turn down, because her numbers just didn't add up.  Her loan advisor (from the committee) had taken some training from the gov't in microloans, and frequently advised her.  So eventually she was approved, and she is the most successful recipient so far!!  It was so awesome to see her so proud and excited about what she has accomplished!  This is Maria --

I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to
be involved in this ministry.....

I had no problems with my ankle/foot while I
was in Nicaragua - for which I am grateful!
